Good Eats Monday - Sushi Go 55

Sushi, as in raw fish, is one of our favorite things ever!
Coming from the East Coast where you will be "look down" upon if you order California roll, we were amazed by how many people in Southern Cal believe that "specialty rolls" are sushi. Sorry, not exactly.

Living in suburbia, it took us a while to find some authentic Japanese sushi places (without costing us a 2nd mortgage).  We don't need to sit next to some movie stars in Beverly Hills, we just want a piece of fresh, raw fish!

After exploring and paying for our mistakes, we concluded that Little Tokyo is our best bet.  Among the list we truly enjoy, Sushi Gen, Hama, Restaurant Komasa, Mako & our personal favorite Sushi Go 55.  These are hard core sushi, more raw than cook, pure and simple rather than sauces and mayo.

So when you are in the mood for sushi purist, dive in, make a splash and go for it. Drop the sauce and the goop, you will be "free" from the condiment trap once and for all. Enjoy!
