Allow "Natural Consequences" - Stop protecting
Decide how you want to relate to difficult family members - Take back the control
Distance is okay - Boundary is essential
Don't expect the person to change - We only have control over our own reactions and responses
Prepare for the worst and hope for the best - Face up to reality
We may be hoping for a picture-perfect family...
But, Sometimes it's just smarter to be prepared...
